March 12, 2008- Mary's Vigil- YouTube, 03/12/08 Words cannot begin to express the appreciation to our friends and supporters who attended the Noon vigil at the Brooks Memorial Fountain in Marshall on behalf of Mary. This was the best response we have ever had in 4 years and what also made it special was the presence of professional members of the law enforcement community. Thank you to Steve Harrington for his presentation, and Deacon Bernie Mileski of St. Philip Catholic Church in Battle Creek for the prayers. Cliff, Anita and family were deeply pleased and comforted by your comments.
Our sincere thanks to Prosecuting Attorney, John Hallacy, Chief Assistant Prosecutor, Dan Buscher, Sheriff Al Byam, Acting Chief Scott McDonald of the Marshall Police Department, and Lt. Have read your response to the blog. My heart goes out to all of you who had to put up with Chris. This could never be a reflection of you or any of the other ladies. Anyone with a brain knows that Chris lies so much that he even believes himself. It is only a reflection of what he is really like. For you and the others, just know that it was a time period you would not want to experience a second time. You do have the gift of two healty children from Chris -so you must realize that something good comes from everything. So continue to take care of those gifts as you have been. By doing what you and your husband, Noreen and others have, you have shown your sons and many other people that there are truly consequences to choices out there.

When the truth is told about everything associated with Mary's case, there will be upheaval and change for the city of Marshall and Calhoun County. I will tell you all that Mary will not rest until justice is served.
So, to the participants in Mary's disappearance and murder: rest assured that you are being watched and the truth is already known. It is all in the timing, my friends?, when you will be EXPOSED. It's such a shame, really, that some of you who know stuff and have involvement in this, couldn't get the courage to step up and admit what happened. Have you heard about Chris Pratt bragging up to family members he is the new prison photographer? How the hell does this bent mind and twisted soul come up with this crap? Jeffrey VanVels, the man who shot and killed GRPD Officer Bob Kozminski, was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday afternoon.
Before the sentence was handed down, Kozminski's parents, Richard and Maria, spoke in court. Looking him directly in the eye, they wanted VanVels to know what exactly he took away -- a son, a brother, a father and a friend.
One day soon Cliff & Anita Marshall will make a similar statement to the man who took their daughter away. Hang in there Anita. You have our prayers and we are all with your family. Justice has been delayed but it will soon come to Mary.
Yesterday I contacted Michigan Victims coordinator and they were absolutely wonderful in taking my information on Chris Pratt. As a victim six years ago I actually did not know of this service and the person committing the crime against my family is still in prison. They now will be able to send me a notice for both cases. Use this agency if you want your voice heard. Pratt must never be released from prison.

It is hard to believe that in just a year on You Tube over 85,000 have seen Mary's videos. This doesn't even include Mary's websites or blogs.
Jeff Pratt video has only been online for about a month and already has 11,000 hits. It you search Mary Lands you reach over a million.
There is no doubt that Mary will be coming home this year and police will file charges. If I were a person doing bad things, I'd be scared. People are talking and this is not going to go away.

Cliff Marshall no longer is the manager of the park where they have resided for many years. Let alone the stress of Mary’s disappearance for over 4 years they did not wish to continue with the responsibility related to park management.
In speaking with them you can already see how some of the strain has been eliminated in that 24/7 job.
It was not the idea of the Marshall’s to take down Mary’s sign, which has been along the road for over three years. They were told by the owner to remove it, as he did not wish to have the sign on the property because it was not in his business interests.
The sign may be gone, and Cliff & Anita may or may not move to another place close by in Marshall? However, they are not going anywhere until Mary’s case is resolved. The larger billboard on Mary is still displayed on West Michigan Avenue between Marshall & Battle Creek.

I don't think the person's remarks were meant to be disrespectful or a racial insult, but we all have to be careful in our words.
There is no doubt that the appearance, demeanor and lifestyle of the infamous TJB does make us wonder how he can keep his job?

By the way, to answer a question that so many have asked? The last FOIA request on this officer was July 2006. I have submitted to the City of Marshall a new FOIA to cover all the materials up to the present date.

I have said before that I am unable to speak directly with law enforcement. I will just say that this case is moving along and will be solved. I am happy that Chris is locked up so he can't hurt another woman. This case is much more complex than one would think and unfortunately, that is why it hasn't been solved yet. The facts are there; however, they need to find the one last fact that will tie all the loose ends together. The person who can do this is the one who some call "sarge". He knows the whole story. He is not the only cop involved but he is closest to it.
I am just as impatient as all of you are to get this case solved. Hang in there, everyone. The time is coming.

Eli Sparks is Jeff's cousin on his mother's side. He is back from Georgia because he lost his job there. Now, Eli is no innocent but he is NOT involved in Mary's disappearance and death. Eli and Jeff were digging to bury some of Mary's things. Jim, you are right about that.
Jeff is just plain stupid if he thinks that he isn't being watched. I bet you he will do something else even more stupid before long.

Eli Sparks is with his family in Albion. Someone is trying to pull the wool over everyone's eyes here in this blog. Know what else....Eli got really nervous burying Mary's things....really nervous. Now, if I were you, Eli, I would call the State Police and come clean with what you found out.
When all is said and done, there will be Pratts sentenced with Chris. How many go down depends on how many come clean. Let's see who steps up to the plate.

Well, if Eli would do the right thing and contact the State Police, we wouldn't need to worry about digging. I think it's time, though, to ask a few questions regarding this case.
1) When is Sarge going to be questioned again about what he knows?
2) Who is protecting him?
3) What is the interim chief's part in this investigation now?
4) Why has no one from the city manager's office taken an interest in this case?
5) How is it that all of us here know the players involved yet they are still going about their business?
It is a known fact that Marshall is a haven for illegal activities such as drugs. There are other illegal activities which happen here but they don't pertain to this case. Now, I think that all of us here in this blog are fed up with MPD and in particular, the behavior of Sarge. I am here to say that he is in it deep yet he still patrols the streets of Marshall. His relationship with Chris Pratt is still going on yet no one seems to be too bothered by that. Jeff still socializes with him as does some of the other Pratt associates.
Then, we have the city manager who is keeping his mouth shut. Why is that, do you suppose? He couldn't find a way to take a few minutes out of his busy schedule to attend Mary's vigil. He could have attended to show us all that we were wrong about him. But no, he is exactly who and what we think he is.
Then, we have to look at those who associate with Chris and Jeff Pratt. The names have been mentioned before so no need to mention them again. Some of the people have come forward and provided info. Thank God, they did.
Finally, we need to keep pushing the city of Marshall and MPD to come clean about this whole case. We must sit tight and wait for the ax to fall and mark my words, it will.
I have followed this case and see another Pratt is out of prison. John Pratt and now Stephen Mirle Pratt for ID theft and perjury in Calhoun County.
No wonder MPD has given up. Why are these people let out?

The Pratts who were released are distant cousins of Chris and Jeff. They have been involved in drug activity in the past.
There is something which is really bothering me right now. I am talking about this video of Jeff and Eli. I am GLAD to see it on You Tube. I am bothered by the fact that stuff is being given to law enforcement and they are just sitting on it. Yes, this case is complicated but we need Mary to come home now. I understand her story is part of a bigger story but come on now. How much longer is it going to take? I have brought up several times the question "Why did it take 2 weeks after Mary came up missing to interview Chris Pratt?" No one seems to be able to answer this question and I want to know why. Here we have a person who just by his relationship to her would be a person of interest in this case. A lot can happen in 2 weeks, folks. Evidence could disappear, documents could be misplaced.......
who knows what else. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to wonder about all of this. Law enforcement is trained in investigation and handling of evidence. Why did they not follow the practices that they were trained in? Why did they not follow proper procedure? Why did they not ACTIVELY pursue Chris and question him rigorously?
So, tell me; I'm all ears.
I have not posted much but when I do am ridiculed. If you all know how to bring Mary home you should do it. It sounds like the same few obsessive bloggers claiming over and over what they are doing to help. Yet no help ever arrives.
I wish the family well but some of you have deep seeded problems. Many of you do not know what you are even talking about. Cops and cowboys, who are you?

Cant agree with you more, she should of been home already, it is the upper authorities holding this case back for their own perosonal reasons. The advocates here are trying their hardest, this goes aboe and beyond the advocates.

Yes, we, Mary's advocates are trying our hardest and will continue to do so. You may think that our dialogue here is nothing but words. How wrong you are. You have no idea what is going on behind the scenes and if you did, maybe you would change your tune about what you're saying. You claim we're obsessive about this. Well, if I'm going to be obsessive, I can't think of a better cause to be obsessive about. Yes, we do know what we're talking about and it's those who have involvement in Mary's disappearance and death who could only wish that we don't. The only deep seeded problems are found in those who choose to find issue with what we say here.
I agree with the blogger who said that it's the higher authorities holding this case back for their personal reasons. Many roadblocks have been put in the way of those who are seeking to find out what happened to Mary and to bring her home. In spite of this, we will not give up. We will continue until we bring Mary home to her family.

I'm asking that anyone who has maybe already stated a small tip or an idea with metit or true question that you blog them again now. We will be forwarding all substantial information to another source that is truly listening. If it was already blogged - we probably have it - as I have kept copies of most everything. We do have an ear of interested authorities and will be allowing it to be forwarded. You will remain anonymous as far as we are concerned. It will just be providing the unanswered questions to another source.
If I had to give a very personal opinion - I would think that it has just been more important to authorities to catch drug dealers than to find Mary's killer. However, if they would go for Mary's killer/killers they just might have a huge insight
into the larger drug picture as these people turn over on each other all the time. Why is R.Sloan not being given a deal to talk, of is he?????

Sue Harrington hated on mary lands and was very jealous of her an the relationship mary had with her sons ect.It is very interesting to find out that Sue and Norrene Parker were friends before this happened to mary. Sue have you ever been to New Jersey?

I want to sincerely thank Jim for the work he is doing to help recover my stolen belongings from a moving company which is holding them hostage. He's going above and beyond to help not only myself but others who have suffered this kind of fraud as well. My observation is that he's doing this out of his sincerest desire to protect the public from consumer assualt. It's still very early in this process but suddenly I have some hope!
